No, absolutely not. And if I won, I don’t want to hear from them, either. Should note, I'm not close to extended family members.

No but I would secretly hope that they would remember me.

I would always congratulate them. It's the right thing to do!

Yes, this.

I would say congrats and enjoy the money. :-)

The only reason I would contact them beyond our normal level and a congratulatory card would be to recommend some books for sound investment if they had no experience in that area, since I work on the edges of that field. I also know several money managers who are renowned for their honesty, focus on low costs and expertise, and I would be happy to pass those names on to said relative.

I make my own money, and I don't want to be beholden to anyone.

I'd let them know they were always my favorite extended family member.

A short congrats to them (same as if they had a child). Shrug. Why would I do more?

If I won the lottery I would expect the same. Anyone trying for more is not my friend.

Be honest now: If someone in your extended family that you have a good relationship with, wins the Lottery and now has $150 Million (After Taxes) would you call or come by to see them and ask about the money, with the hope that you will be given something? Be honest now! Please discuss.
No I'm not that kind of person

Nope, you couldn't pay me enough to talk to my extended family. Plus, it would all be gone on drugs and gambling before the check cleared.
