I started a meet up here here I live. It cost like $75.00 for 3 months..or maybe it was 6. That was back in 2013. Since I didn't get any interest in it, I deleted it when the time ran out.
I think your age range is a little big. 18 year olds and 28 year olds are in very different stages of life (or at least they should be ). I would say 18-22 or 23-28. JMO.

well two of my friends are 24 and 26 and they want to be included.
I'm a member of two groups via Facebook. They started as information sharing forums for the towns I lived in, but splintered easily into groups for hiking, biking, writing, etc. Participation has been excellent, unlike the couple of Meetups I've tried. I think keeping it local helps.
