Police: Man dead in home for months - Local News - Traverse City Record-Eagle

How sad for him to die alone without anyone noticing for several months. Being somewhat of a loner myself, I would hope that people that I do know care enough to check on me if something was to happen

This actually doesn't bother me too much. I think I would prefer to pass alone. I sometimes wonder if the dying person who was "surrounded by family and friends" at the end wishes they would just let him be.

What does it matter how long it takes before someone finds you? 10 minutes or 10 months, you'll be dead. You won't care.

It matters because i think it says something about you as a person if no one notices that you're gone.

I could care less. I'm dead at that point. I'm not alive to feel anything, remorse, regret, etc.

150 years from now, you will be dead and no one on this Earth will care that you existed. You'll just be a branch on some genealogy tree.

Well I kinda figure only my parents gave a damn about me anyhow. I will probably outlive them. So I expected nobody to know or care I was gone. Again, unless I die before my parents + brother. Or die in public where a body would be hard to miss.

But oh well. I am dead at that point, so I won't notice I am not missed. I never expected a funeral or anything. Just dumped somewhere.

Wow. What a sad & mysterious story.

Since I don't have automatic bill paying and even if I did I certainly don't have $90,000 cash in the bank to pay the bills, my dead body would be discovered as soon as I miss one or two months of paying the bills. (actually my relatives would notice that I was missing long before that would happen)
