I just got the funniest wedding invite from a friend's daughter. The dress code says "Kountry Klub Kasual" - what??? Moderator cut: deleteI have never seen this before and I'm almost wondering if it's some kind of inside joke! I guess I'll just ask my friend but man, this is so tacky and weird

I believe it is just someone who doesn't no how to spell and/or is trying to be hip using Ks instead of Cs. Moderator cut: delete

ha ha, but god I hope there's not something sinister going on here! I can't imagine, based on what I know about the mother of the bride/my work friend. But secondly, I have no idea what "country club casual" is

Someone once told me to think of Country Club Casual as fun Business Casual.

When in doubt, better to be overdressed -- wear the white sheet and pillowcase.

I would ask directly, and wonder why you even got an invite.

You said this person is a "work friend", that's not really a friend. With the costs of wedding these days I wonder why you were even invited. Do you even know the bride and groom?

Three theories:

1) The use of the Ks instead of Cs makes me think someone's spending too much time keeping up with the Kardashians.
2) This is either going to be a white trash or redneck wedding, if not both.
3) The education system in this country has really deteriorated.

I'm guessing the bride and groom have never actually been to a country club. When I think country club casual I think of Caddyshack....the second one.

If they're not sending coded invitations to a white power rally, I'd say it's khakis and polo shirts (*shudder*). Maybe a blazer.

Honestly, I'm not sure whether I'm more offended by the idea of a possible klan wedding or the perky butchery of the English language. As an editor, I would probably feel obligated to send my regrets out of principle. LOL.
