But I've never said anything because....she's my boss. And I don't have to be around her daily.

This feels like listening to people self-pleasure. I really am revolted by it.

If only we still taught etiquette and manners, it would cure 90% of this problem. I guess you'd still have some people with a big mouth or whatever that would crunch loudly, but at least they'd have their mouths closed.

I know I sound like an old fart when I say this and to many people I am (I'm 46), but manners & etiquette, especially table manners, are rare these days. How did it get to be like this? I mean, common things like....don't reach in front of other people to get something off the table, or don't chew with your mouth open, don't slurp, no elbows on the table. I'm a professional and work in a professional environment, but even so, if we are at a group lunch, you'll still see some people with elbows on table or not putting their napkin on their lap. And I can't tell you how many banquets I've been to where people didn't know which fork or spoon to use. It's really sad. I don't think we should be Emily Post at all times (I have 3 kids and am realistic), but people should at least KNOW these things so they don't look like uneducated boobs when they're at events.

Default Colleague making disgusting noises at lunch!!

I just started a new job last week and for the second time I went to eat lunch in the breakroom. This other employee sitting at another table, kept loudly clearing his throat, making this weird clearing noise to his sinus and cracking his knuckles - while I was sitting there trying to eat. He's disgusting. It was the only two of us in there. But something is wrong with this dude. Is there a nice way to ask him to stop?

LOL just eat lunch at a different time or go to your car and eat lunch if it's nice outside.

Ask him if he could please not hork while you're in there eating.

Or you could let him know that carbs make phlegm worse.

I'd quit. It's the only sensible solution.

I don't have the option to eat outside or at my desk. Can't change the time either so I'm pretty stuck.
