They always assume I work at the gym! (female, male, feel)

There's a restaurant at the gym I go to. Every single time I got to the restaurant, they always tell me :'You're a trainer here, right?'. I noticed they don't ask other women/men who are clearly in workout gear. Yet, every single time I order something at this restaurant, they're always under the impression I work there for whatever reason.
I feel slightly offended yet it's flattering to a degree.
Would you take this as a 'compliment' (not that they were trying to compliment me, but you know what I mean)?

Well... you do formulate sentences like a trainer...so..
Not sure what sex you are but I'm guessing if you are a female it's probably because the guys who are asking are trying to hit on you or flirt. It's a good opening compliment that could lead to a conversation.
If you are a guy I'm guessing you must have an impressive physique and you stand out from the rest. Maybe the girls are hitting on you when they ask that question.

How? This is an online forum, not a poetry exercise.
I'm not going to use elaborate vocabulary for such post. There is not much/enough substance.
I do not see any blatant mistakes.
By the way, it is not a 'restaurant' per se. It's more of a coffee shop. Not sure why I used the term 'restaurant'. This question was asked by females, so I hardly doubt they're trying to hit on me.

Relax. It's probably just an excuse to talk to you.
