Is it bad for a guy to think of a female friend like this?

In my observations, when a man puts a woman on a pedestal is usually obsession and/or unrequited love where he creates an image of perfection in his mind and thinks he can eventually win her over with his adoration.

This, and meanwhile she's not even considering him relationship material! So if you're looking to have her look at you that way, OP, forget it! You haven't a snowball's chance in hell.

As a lady, I think I'd prefer to be treated like an older princess, what with the bon bons and burning the sheets after I've slept on them one time. I don't know that my self esteem could handle all the shade with being treated like a drag queen.

This is a sugar daddy/submissive fetish in the making. If you derive happiness from it, go ahead but if you're thinking that treating someone like a queen will make her realize that you're the one for her, nope.

I think you have to define the term 'queen'. Royalty isn't all just wearing pretty clothes there's a lot more to being royal than just dressing up and having folks defer to you. But, in popular culture in the United States, folks seem to have a bizarre interpretation of royalty.

Being polite and respectful never hurts, no matter to whom it's addressed. It's probably better to just be respectful and polite since then the other person has the opportunity to be a person and you'll possibly find a friend instead of an icon.

Nobody functional wants a sycophant for a friend. Treat your friends well, but it's less about treating them like royalty and more about them being able to know that you love and value them by your actions.
