We moved to a new neighborhood a yr ago. I am a ppl person when we moved i had a get together with our 2 neighbors beside us. The plan was to eventually meets others. we have about 15 homes on our street.

So one neighbor down the street brought us a Christmas present. Now i am trying to figure about how to say thanks. what to buy to say thank you. We don't know them and it was the first time seeing them. They bought us edible stuff for a party finger food stuff..crakers cheese, sausage etc

Just a thank you note would be fine. Walk a thank you note over, and invite them over, since that was your plan anyway.

I like to give "in kind." Since they gave you a food gift, a food gift would be appropriate with your thank-you.

I'd buy them a fruit pie or a cheesecake with a thank you note.

Bake up a plate of homemade cookies... doesn't take that much effort, really. Chocolate chips. Or get a mix at the grocery store. Take it down with your note. :-)

Happy New Year!

A thank you note. Or bake some cookies. Or invite them over.

We typically bake up some 'neighbor gifts,' typically cookies or bread. Then we wrap them and have them ready to go. Doesn't take long to do.
