Frankie, my Papillon mix, is a wonderful companion and offers boundless comedic entertainment. Frankie is comfortable and well cared for, he's got a good dog life. Frankie is lovable and loved.
But if it's a choice of Frankie over a human life, human is the go to for me. While Frankie is important to me, that human is likely important to a spouse, child, parent, extended family, friends, colleagues, and on. I feel it would be selfish to put canine over human life.
I too prefer animals over people. If I'm watching the movie I am more likely to cry if an animal dies than a human unless that human is a child or elderly or a favorite character lol.
With the argument that if a human was drowning and a dog was drowning who would I save? It depends, random human and random dog, then prob the human and then jump back in for the dog. Random human and one of my dogs? My dogs, then the human. Sorry, my dogs are family. I would do anything to save them. Same as I would with any human family member.
