Hi I have a guy best friend, we haven't spoken in a couple of months, neither of us have called each other since February, and I'm scared to call him, even though we used to talk all the time. I'm not sure why I'm scared, but I really just want to call him to say hey ... I texted him a few weeks ago and things were fine, but I don't know, we need to get back on track again and be friends, and I feel like a phone call (we used to talk on the phone all the time) would do us good. Can someone help me and just tell me to call him already? Why is it that as time goes on it's harder and harder to call someone? It should not be awkward if we are friends, right?

I don't understand why you are "scared" to call. Maybe you are not scared, but feeling a little guilty for not keeping in touch? Look at it this way. If something were wrong with this person you say you are so close to I'm sure he would have told you about it. The old saying "no news is good news" is an old saying because it's often true. Just call him.
It's hard to give you a good answer, because you don't provide any information. What, exactly, are you scared of?
Stop texting! Telephone him. Either just say, "Hi, I just wanted to check in with you, because I feel like such a jerk that I keep forgetting to call." Or call with something specific, like "I can't believe it's been so long since we talked! Do you maybe want to go to the Avengers movie next weekend, maybe Saturday afternoon?"
