The guy that mows my yard agreed to take my accumulated non-kitchen trash to the local landfill for me.
I had quite a bit, trying to downsize, too much accumulation of things broken, not working. He had done this before and I had paid a certain amount.
After loading up the first truck, the guy says "I'm just going to take this home and burn it, instead of paying the landfill fee".
I was stunned. OMG. I said I wish you wouldn't do that, it is trash, after all. There's some plastic stuff that would be bad to burn...etc. He didn't answer me...He has been good about helping me around the house but this?
He loaded up the other truck and left, I guess carrying all my trash home with him. No way could I make him use the landfill!
Hoping against hope he did not have in mind to mine the trash for private info, numbers etc.
To be honest, I know he burns all his own trash, and he'd want to avoid paying the landfill when he could burn it...even if it's just to make a few bucks.
But I am still shocked. He truly didn't seem to understand why I wanted him to use the landfill. He does anything to make money, that's true, all kinds of odd jobs, but it's so intrusive...I was desperately trying to remember what was in all the piles....
Guess I needed to vent, nothing to do about it now. I'm almost positive there's no personal info in the lot.
I see you are in NC. Hopefully, he will just burn them and be done with it. Seriously awkward for sure. Especially if there is any mail included with your name and address on it.

I did that, then realized I just need to shred the actual papers that have the personal info on them. Tear off the info piece, and toss the empty pieces. A shredder can be worn out by overuse.
Surely he knows her name and address since he goes to her house!
