No, i think it comes off differently, as checking for counterfeit cash is pretty much common practice and widespread. Most definitely don't take offense to that.
The 1-shoe policy, implemented towards certain minority groups and now I realize in certain minority neighborhoods, has a much stronger cloud of suspicion directed at specific groups at play.
Do you have ANY kind of proof to back that up, or is it just a feeling you have? Businesses are in it to make money, green is the only color that counts. They make decisions based on profit potential, not on the color of someone's skin. Is it racist when they bring in products they know will sell in one neighborhood but not another?
You have no real evidence or facts, yet seem determined this is racial profiling based solely on the color of the people involved? Isn't that just as bad as doing what you're accusing someone else of doing?
I thought you were going to say he was profiled because he wanted to try on dress shoes instead of sneakers. Many stores have the policy of only having single shoes to try on. Of course some one-legged guy could take advantage of such a policy.
That is insane. Not sure if this was profiling or not but in todays consumer based economy, there is no need to support any business practice you don't like.
I would not purchase any shoes I could not try both on and walk around in.
Op you seemed extremely focus on race...many threads started on it. Have you noticed this?
No, actually this incident was the only one this year that raised my eyebrows involving race..

It's in "non-relationship" and is a situation involving my friend, and discussion on racial (mis)treatment has relevance.. if you don't put yourself in his shoes (no pun intended) you will continue your attitude to just sweep it under the rug
Were you trying on shoes as well? I kind of assumed you were not...but wanted to clarify one way or the other.
No I didn't try anything, but she'd hand me just 1 shoe too, to save face.
My friend didn't want to film the encounter, it is quite sad that he resigned the fact that the suspicious treatment was because he figured it was about his race. He has mentioned previously of being racially profiled in various shopping incidents (like being watched like a hawk), at grocery stores too. He is bi-racial too and looks like Tyson Beckford, so he always has leering eyes at him, but actions speak even louder.

I am a white American and I have had this happen to me in the U.S. Based on my experience, I am inclined to feel that you are seeing a problem where there was none.
Have had the same happen, never thought about it other than one is trying on a couple sizes of shoes to get the fit right first.
