Such as people who are always the first to rush to disapprove of others or prattle on and on about the stuff they'd never do?

Just curious. Is it honest? Or just a bunch of self-serving baloney?

Both, I think. I have met self-serving people, I have met people who honestly think it's their jobs to make sure that others follow THEIR footsteps (ehm, those people that show up at your doors soliciting their books of prayers to you is one example).

Here's something that was not mentioned: I have also met people that talk of their virtues all the time just so they look good, while they do exactly the opposite of what they preach (COMPLETE opposite).

Im not overly religious, but there is a saying about seeing the speck in someone else's eye, yet not seeing the log in the own.

Jesus I think said that.

Thoust who protest too much. Shakespeare maybe??

Yet get my drift.

Oh, we're all guilty of it from time to time. But I'm talking about those who seem to bring indignation and sanctimony into EVERY conversation. I have an aunt like that. We can't even crack jokes at the dinner table when she's there, because she's going to weigh in with her thunderous disapproval. So our normally funny and congenial family getogethers always have a pall cast over them by her virtuous presence.

Not that it's news and I don't have time, but I second all of the above.

Yes. I really slummed when I wrote this one. Far be it from me to criticize others.

Is this about the 'Would you Cheat?' thread??? If so.... it's time to move on.

If not, then I find people who are 'holier than thou' to be very annoying. Whether they are those being overly pious, or those claiming to know all about everyone else without actually ever having met them!
