Equally annoying, those who have to say goodbye like five times, be that in real life, on the phone, or online.
agreed! when i say bye, that means it's time to hang up, not "oh, i forgot" and keep jabbering for 10 mins..
that's why generally, if i'm getting off the phone and i anticipate that happening, i'll feign urgency and "i have to go now, call me later, bye!" click.
What is the deal with people that give silence and then just hang up the phone after you say "Bye" or "good bye". Isn't it polite to say "bye" back.
I'm just curious. I've noticed that is a habit with a few people and it feels like when they hang up they are upset or angry about something.
A lot of times I will say something like.. "Ok, well, then I'll talk to you later". or "Take care, ok?" or "thank you for calling". Then I will hang up. Under these circumstances it is pretty obvious that the conversation is over and I don't really feel that a "goodbye" is necessary.
