My aunt died Thursday or Friday and now her only son is burying her in the one place she told him not to. She thought the place is terribly dreary. It's so sad she died as she did. How can a son do this? This just makes her death even worse!

Who knows, she may come back and "visit" him. I hope he's prepared...seriously.

He sounds passive aggressive.

That's an interesting thought. Hmmm, I bet that isn't even going through his head.

And, yes, it does sound passive aggressive. What it is is just horrible!

Is this a monetary issue? Is it less expensive to bury her in this spot or the spot she chose?

Yes, I am waiting for my mom to call me back so we can talk. I imagine this is hitting her pretty hard. She is the last living of four sisters. This is a very bad day.

I have no idea. I would have thought my aunt would have already picked out a plot (she was 91 or 92) and it would not have been at that place. Even if it is a monetary issue, it still doesn't justify him doing this.

Does she really still care where she's buried?

I think so. My wishes are to be cremated and not put in some box in the ground. So I would hope whoever ends up laying me to rest at least respects my wishes.
