They have a band playing every Fri.& Sat. night in the middle of the shopping center & you can relax with a glass of wine!).

Ok I'll swing over and get movn2nc and we'll visit that Promenade too, it's closer to Jerseymom so she can come too. I can't wait this is gonna be fun

Ok....you are all, I mean y'all are having WAY too much fun on this thread.. ..I'm jealous... ....I'm still sitting here in "Joisey" wishing I had never left the South 5 years ago when we moved "BACK" to Jersey....You see we had left Jersey before the herd in 1990......now I hope I can still get out We have been thinking about Greenville SC or Charlotte.....this Birkdale thing just might have to lure us to Charlotte... ....keep up the info on housing and jobs and schools....and btw, what are the taxes averaging in different towns in the Mooresville, Huntersville areas...and how is Concord?...I'm assumming on race day is it a nightmare?.....comparable to traveling north on a Sunday afternoon on the GSPKWAY?......Seriously I am curious about the property taxes...since I have lived with LOW taxes in FL and obscene taxes in Jersey...

Thanks and keep having fun....honestly I'm thrilled to hear everyone happy....good luck to "y'all"...it really is easier to enjoy life below the Mason-DIxon line even if you are a *** yankee

Ok Maryann you have to come check out Birkdale I'm still in AZ so don't be jealous of me just yet. Although righ now I am stuck in a Wilmington hotel with a broken ankle(long story) I am having a house built 7 miles from Birkdale in Cabarrus county right over the Mecklenberg county line low taxes something like 1000 for every 100,000. Huntersville will be more in Taxes Mooresville which is in Iredell is a tad more in taxes than Cabarrus.

Sorry to hear about your ankle.....how is Cabarrus county for schools?...I'm sure that has been asked a million times but I discounted Charlotte because I was looking at Union County and I am NOT a fan of uniforms in schools and they seem to be overly concerned about that...?....I just found out a former student of my fathers is a teacher in Charlotte (Dad was a teacher) so I'm going to get in touch with her and hopefully get some info....What are the towns that are in Cabarrus county that you have looked at and why did you settle in on building in Cabarrus?...Houseing prices? size lots? sorry for so many questions...just trying to get all info from all angles....when we make a trip down there we will have our kids so half our minds will be gone and need to focus as much as possible on narrowing the search BEFORE we get there...the one thing I know we wil find out is where Burger King and Toys R Us are... LOL!
Thanks, Maryann
