I will be moving to the area in September 2015 and am still not decided on whether to bring what I have (will cost about $1,000+ for moving van) or come with clothes and personal items and take a chance on finding decent used stuff, discontinued items that I could purchase once I am there?
People say to bring my own stuff because of the "sentimental value"....... well that doesn't really apply in my case. I try not to fall in love with my "stuff". I am pretty sure I can manage with something different.
Yes, there are lots of them here. We have several Goodwill stores, a nice Habitat store, and many consignment and second hand stores. Finding things to buy will not be a problem.

Yes, I have Googled. But I enjoy reading what other comments the writer may include in his/her answer. It puts a personal touch on the answer. Google is just information. Do you see the difference?
There's a large Goodwill over near Joel Coliseum (NW 27th and University Parkway).
