My wife and I are looking to shift our 2nd home location from Pawleys Island, SC to Pinehurst. We are wondering how good the weather will be for tennis from mid December to mid February compared to the coast of South Carolina. I was also wondering just how socially, economically elite the town and Pinehurst Resort are as we get a little of that in our present location. Lastly, any good roads, terrain for sports cars since The Grand Strand is pretty flat and uncurvy. TIA.
tguru, I have a sister in Murrell's Inlet so I know the weather in both places.
Sorry, it's just about the same. Maybe, less wind, but about the same temps.
We do have windy country roads. And hills. And a whole lot less traffic!
Pinehurst does have their share of "elitists". Every place does. But, with all the choices, Pinehurst lawn and tennis, 7 lakes, Pinehurst CC, and a whole slew of places to play tennis, they CAN be avoided.
PS: I have a corvette that I love to take out on the windy roads and open it up.
tguru you have some good info here and you'll really like the Pinehurst area too.
I worked with a couple that sold their home in Pawleys Island, SC to move to the Pinehurst area last year.
When I first talked with them I couldn't figure out why Pawleys Island seemed so familiar to me - but when I went to my back yard to enjoy some down time in my hammock - I suddenly figured out why
If need more info on the area let me know and I'll get you what ever it is you need - if possible.
