How would a temporary, short term (2 and 1/2 months) contract where I would earn maybe $20,000 affect my NC unemployment claim ?

I would be working for a company from California, but paid cash through their outside the USA division and all work would be performed outside the USA, no Unemployment Insurance payments would be forthcoming from them as I would be a short term CONTRACTOR, not an employee.

Thanks so much in advance.

I believe the amount (what a lot of folks earn in a year) might affect the status. A condition of unemployment is being ready and available for work?
