We are moving to the Fayetteville area & from what I hear Jack Britt is among the most preferred schools. Can someone tell me what area of Fayetteville that is or is it Fayetteville? What gate would we use going on post & how far? I'd love to hear about any nice areas close to post that have good schools (Elementary & Middle).

Cape Fear is one of the other top schools. It's just east of Fayetteville. You could live out in Eastover or Stedman area. You'd be 15 minutes from Fayetteville. And via I-295, you can be at Ft. Bragg in about 30 minutes. It's more rural, less congested, and less crime out that way.

We lived in the Jack Britt area, almost all of the people in our neighborhood worked on base. I can't say what gate, but I believe the commute was about 20 min (according to neighbors). Yes, it is technically still in Fayetteville, but near Hope Mills. I will PM a website I used to search for homes, and it will let you search by school...makes it easy to look for a home and stay in the area you want to be in. (I am not a realtor and didn't use the people who run the site, I just liked how easy it was to search from.)
