Hi my husband and I are debating our next move (he is military). He wants to go to Ft Bragg, but I know nothing about the area. We were told that Hope mills was a good part of town. We have 1 child and another on the way. Our son will start school soon after we relocate and I was hoping for suggestions on great schools and neighborhoods. Any input and suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks

I've lived in the Hope Mills area since 2002. We also work in this area. We chose to build our current house in the Gray's Creek School District. We looked everywhere after I retired and liked this area the best. We have a 1st grader at Gallberry Farms elementary and a Pre-K at Alderman Rd elementery. Our oldest graduated from South View High School. We have a Hope Mills address but it is in the County so we don't pay city tax. Getting to post is not a big issue, many many Military folks live around us. On the other side of Hope Mills is the Jack Britt School district. It is the most popular at the moment. It has had the test scores the last few years. There are lots of housing choices avialable in a variety of price ranges. I could rattle off a list of subdivisions but I'd need to know more about your wishes.

Thanks for the input. We are thinking about traveling to check out the area tomorrow. We are looking to purchase a 4br 2ba home with a backyard, garage, and at least 1600 sq ft. We have not done a tremendous amount of research on home loans and are not exactly sure on what we are looking to spend. I would estimate a home from $130-175 range. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

To get 4 bedrooms you will probably find a house with a bonus room as the 4th bedroom. Very common here in that price range. Here are some new construction neighborhoods to consider in no particular order. My wife and I work as buyer's agents and we don't represent any of these builders.....

Acorn Ridge
Brookshire
Crosswinds
Churchhill Downs
Braxton Cove
Aspens Creek

Also, take a look at Aberdeen/Southern Pines. A little longer commute, but better schools, quality of life, and a less transitory community...
