We are planning a move to the Dunn area of NC from Napa, CA.
We are moving for several reasons most importantly family time followed by cost of living etc. My husband's family is in Philadelphia so we will be closer to them in NC.
My husband will be working at the hospital in Dunn. We are a family of 6--8 year old, 7 year old, 3.5 year old and 1 year old (this does not include the two cats and two guinea pigs). We homeshool so schools are not an issue.
We will be moving via RV with our clan in November of this year.
Any advice about these areas, towns, weather would be much appreciated.
Angela

Don't live there, but have family there. Farming communities, land is flat. The area is wonderful!!! A fairly short drive to the coast is another plus!

I live in the area and yes it would be a nice move for the family. A slower pace of life but can drive to excitement

Dunn is really growing & quite nice! I went to school in Buies Creek (Campbell Univ) and it's a nice area. It'll be quite a change for your family, I'm sure... but the people will make you feel welcome to the south!

I live in Dunn. We moved here last year and it's a nice little town. I miss some conveniences and hate having to drive 45 mins to some stores (Michaels, Kohls, malls, etc)

I am from Harnett County, and Dunn is the largest town in the county with more ammenites than the other towns. It is also off of I-95 and just off of I-40. But I am from Angier, which I think the rural area outside of Angier is my favorite. Coats is a much more slow paced and laid back town, and I would prefer it over Dunn... There is definitely not much to do in this area though, but the people are friendly and the cost of living and house prices and all that are dirt cheap.
