My wife and I have purchased a 1 1/2 acre lot off of Old Stage Road in Buies Creek and will be relocating from Maryland. We are somewhat familiar with the area (have relatives in Smithfield and Clayton). Have also started to establish relationships with people in Erwin and Dunn. ANY info that can be passed on to us concerning happenings in the area will be greatly appreciated. We subscribe to the Daily Record online and do notice there is a bit a crime closer to the Dunn area. Knowing there will always be some crime, is it really out of hand in the area?

College town. Don't suppose a private college is any less angelic than the public universities?

Campbell's is a christian college. Back before I met my wife I used to date a girl who went to there; she was quite heavenly.

On the area in general it's nice, but unremarkable, as far as I can tell. I never spent more than a day or so there at a time. I remember therre being an awesome country buffet place on the main road in Dunn. I can't recall the name.

Thanks for the input. I believe the buffet you are talking about is "Westin Sizzler". Yes, it is very good, we eat there each time we visit the area. We like the "unremarkable" characteristic of the area. We were looking for a quiet, low key area but not more than 10 minutes or so to a large store (Wal-Mart), 1 hour from Raleigh, and 30 - 40 minutes to Fort Bragg (Retired Air Force).
