It doesn't take much money to fix a flat. Just change the spare out. IMO, if it's been there for a year and hasn't moved, either sell the car, junk it or put it in your garage. Why should your eyesore be everyone elses?

Does anyone know how a out of state transporter would go about removing a bank repossessed vehicle from New York City to sell at an auto auction in PA?

Robin-IF that's you and obviously it could be, move the vehicle onto YOUR property and not the communities. Yes, its sad that you are in the position you are in but others are not and they shouldn't be exposed to it.

While I agree with looking into the matter, an abandoned car is different than a "car in waiting". If you leave a care on the street, with a flat tire, never move or keep it presentable for a year, it is abandoned. You wouldn't be able to use said car in an emergency anyway. If you were counting on it, better maintain it. If you are holding on to a car for future use, get it off the street, put in in your carport, garage, drive way, maintain it so it's not an eye sore. etc.

Othterwise for the OP, yep 311, their are city ordances if on public streets. If it was a private lot, there is a lot more effort required.

The original post to the thread was July 2007. . here it is December 2008 and the vehicle still sits in the street with 4 flat tires. .. what kind of neighbor is so disrespectful and unthoughtful to do this?

Default Vehicle finally moved

FINALLY!! After 3 long years of passing this old vehicle with flat tires on my neighborhood street, action was taken by the City Code department and it was moved to the owners driveway where it parks by itself for 90% of the time! Just thought I would pass this good news along and if you're neighborhood has a similar situation going on, remember there is still hope. Clean up your neighborhood and don't let it get trashy and rat infested.

We've had 3 cars parked and abandoned. I will email the police, who will check it out. No tag or current inspection and they'll put a 7 day "move it or tow it" sticker. After 7 days, bye bye. I think people park and leave to avoid going to the junkyard, who will pay them scrap fees.
