Hello all thinking abut moving to Rural hall. I will defintely like to put up a gate and a pond wherever I go. My goal is to buy some land and get a Modular Home. Do any one have any insights, Is it possible to stray away from HOAs i see alot of community homes, are the HOAs strict in the area? Is Rural Hall a small town type enviorment? How is the HIgh School System? Are modular homes allowed in most place? Any information is greatly appreciated

I don't know squat about Rural Hall, but with acreage, a gate and a pond in your future goals, you won't be talking to any HOAs, you will be buying out of HOA territory most likely.

You will probably get better answers if you post in the Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point sub-forum. Most forum regulars will not know where Rural Hall is. I agree with the above, that if you purchase an acre or more, you will not have an HOA. Check with the town about modula home requirements, but I suspect they are allowed if on a permanent foundation.

BTW, if the high school quality is important, you might rethink your move. According to Realtor listings, the North Forsythe High School is rated only a 1 out of 10 by GreatSchools. You might look at Pilot Mountain, Tobaccoville or other towns near Winston-Salem for better schools.
