Hello! I'm moving to Fancy Gap, VA this spring and hoping to be able to get involved selling baked goods & high quality craft items in Mt Airy during the "tourist season". Planning to settle in Mt Airy within the next year (also checking the Mt Airy website for info). Any helpful information and referrals regarding the tourist season, festivals, and possible contacts regarding selling booths and health regulations would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm confused...you are moving to Fancy Gap now AND moving to Mt. Airy in the next year

From Fancy Gap to Mt. Airy all the way down hwy 52 you'll find many roadside stands, antique/junk shops and shops. Perhaps you could get some of your baked goods on a shelf at places like B & B Produce?

I would contact the Chamber of Commerce for the other info you seek (fair dates and health regulations)

In addition, you really want to look into all the amazing street fairs and festivals that go on in Galax and Hillsville from May to October.

And finally, the wonderful little Gap Deli right on hwy 52 practically under the Blue Ridge Parkway in Fancy Gap is under new management this spring. You should contact them about possibly providing certain baked goods or desserts for their business. They don't have a very big kitchen there and always contract out for that stuff.

Red face Clarification

Thanks so much for all the links and the helpful info! I meant to say I would be moving to Mt Airy "after" a year in Fancy Gap, not "within" a year. I will be renting in Fancy Gap while I get used to the greater area, and may decide to stay on in that area if things work out money-wise. Sounds like there's a lot going on in the whole area! I also buy & sell collectibles, so the added information was much appreciated. Thanks again!

Glad to help.

I love the Fancy Gap area, so please let me know if there is anything else I can tell you
