But they are not allowed by law to marry the person they love. And that's okay?

I covered this in another thread already. Same sex marriage is not illegal in the state of NC so you can marry anyone you want. Same sex marriage simply isn't recognized, sanctioned or acknowledged by the government.

And the fact that you bring that up is exactly why I said that if you're gay then go live you life and quit worrying about what other people think, especially the government.

Appropriate to the thread: an example of one gay couple in a long term relationship (almost 50 years. Cheers to these guys )and their fears because of the legal stance of their situation. Several experts also weigh in

Please read the New Testament. Christ did away with all those rules.

But Paul, in the Epistle to the Romans Chapter 1, verses 18 and onwards, explicitly singles out homosexuality as the basest of sins.

There are like 641 laws in the old testament (the only place homosexuality is mentioned) and most are "reprehensible to the Lord" and I truly doubt ANYONE is following any 20 of them let alone all 641...
Only if you are an Orthodox Jew.

I live under grace.

Again, read the New Testament.

The fact of the matter is, homosexuality in general and homosexual marriage in particular are very damaging to any society. Look at any great empire that has ever risen, eg the Romans, and you will see that widespread homosexuality is a marker of that empires' decline and fall.

Sociologically speaking, homosexuality and homosexual marraige are nothing more than a free ride at the expense of the rest of us, for they do NOTHING to further the most basic of human function, which is the perpetuation of the species.

Do you ever wonder why the homosexual lobby in this country has so much power? It's simple, they don't have to spend the hundreds of thousands of dollars required to raise children. Even if they get 'married', they do nothing, at the most basic level, to create and build the next generation of human beings.

It ought to be self evident that if everyone was a homosexual the human race wouldn't last another 80 years, but this fact is masked by the structure of society and the sheer ignorance of those who think America just magically appeared out of the ether and didn't require the hard work, not to mention childbearing capacity, of literally hundreds of millions of heterosexuals.

Just think if all the homosexuals out there hadn't had heterosexual parents, they wouldn't even exist.

This is the secular argument, by the way.

Chris

It's not illegal to discriminate against immoral, unethical behaviour.

But thanks for the red herring anyway.

That's an awful argument. The thing is, not everyone is a homosexual and not everyone will be a homosexual. Your argument almost implies that it's a choice whether to be gay or not.

You talk about gay marriages being free rides, but you totally ignore gay families that adopt, as well as childless straight marriages.

What about Premarital sex?

The effects of premarital sex (not only being immoral) are MUCH worse for families and society than Gay Couples (who generally have positive benefits anyway to society just as much as any other family...)

Premarital sex is a huge precursor to kids growing up with no father and being bastard kids because of people getting knocked up at a young age or at a point in their life where they financially can't raise kids in an appropriate way. This has a huge negative effect to almost all kids growing up in a situation where their mom just got knocked up. The moms generally can't afford a kid, has no means of raising the child well, the child does not grow up with a father, etc.

Do you guys who are anti gay Civil Unions think that Government should Ban Premarital sex or the negative impacts it has on families, society, and it's immoral according to the bible?

M hm. See how crazy your idea sounds like. Gay people doesn't destroy family values. At all. Not at all, not a tall, not at all.

You people who are anti same sex civil unions are either bigots or you also support government regulating Pre-marital sex and banning Divorce. Or you're just a HUGE hypocrite in addition to a bigot, really.

Radicals. Brainwashed radicals are people who think Government should regulate if you have sex before marriage or if you choose to engage in a relationship with someone of the same sex.

crazyyyy stuff.

So, did you sleep through Roman history class, or did you take "Popular Historical Myths 101" instead?
