I was thinking about relocating with my 13 year old daughter. We are currently living in Cape Cod MA. She has always been in catholic schools and is a straight a student. She loves soccer and basketball. We are looking for a safe community that I can find work and not be away from her too long. Also a good catholic school.

You don't mention what kind of work?

There are Catholic Schools in NC, but not a lot compared to the northest.

Anywhere in NC will have soccer and basketball. Nobody can comment on your job prospects without knowing what field you're in. Also, NC is a very diverse state--what has drawn you to here? Do you want urban or rural? Mountains or coast? Liberal or conservative? There are 100 "spectra" to think about instead of saying just "I want to come to NC". Have you ever visited here, etc? Basically, what is it that draws you to NC, as that is what you will want to look for. Also, you'll want to line up a job before moving, once you settle on a few places you like. NC's unemployment is kind of high and the jobs that are here have dozens if not hundreds of applicants, according to HR folks who post on here.

NC seems to nave snow, we dont want to move to far south. I have friends who relocated there and they love it. We would want more rural than urban. Where we are now is a very small town. We are looking for a change, but don't want to move that far away, that way we could drive back to Ma. for holidays.

Have you ever been here, driven around, and explored the area, or is it a potential move because of what your friends said? Every person is different in their needs and requirements, and you would also be uprooting your daughter from her current life, away from her friends and familiar surroundings. What does she think of relocating?

And we still don't know what kind of job she'd be looking for.
