I know there are some posts re: Carolina Trace, but they are mostly years old, so I was hoping for any updated info.

I've got a job opportunity at Ft. Bragg and my (pregnant) wife, toddler son and I are thinking of moving to the area. We currently live in a college town with a nice mix of not being too big but with plenty happening, and my only real worries about Carolina Trace are that it may be isolated and/or mostly for retirees?

We like the location in that we'd have access to both f'ville and raleigh/chapel hill. As I may have some stints abroad and away from home, I want to be sure my family will be safe and as my wife may return to grad school, the proximity to UNC, NC State, etc. is very appealing. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
