By the way, pets are viewed very differently here. Don't ever let your dog roam... The consequences can be horrifying. Like I said, be sure, NC is a completely different world. and

Thanks for all your thoughts and recommendations! Think we may have settled near Fayetteville in a veteran area.. Saint pauls.. I have read the good and bad ..but for now, it seems the most logical. I know all about "Robeson animal treatment" and will always keep my pets in line. It is either here or SC.. any luck wishing taken warmly! Thanks to everyone. :0)

Wow! I've lived just outside of Robbins for over 10 years and this Yankee has never once experienced any animosity what so ever in either Robbins or Carthage. Quite the contrary, I've always been treated well and found the "locals" to be warm and friendly. A little curious about the thick Providence accent though. "Were you ever in the mafia? You sound like those guys on The Sopranos"! Aye! Oh! Not fer nuthin! Youse guyz! Treat them with respect and it comes right back.

Shoot, I've even met and made friends with some of the more colorful locals in Star NC. You reap what you sow.

Outnumbered by race? Really??? I thought it was the South that was supposed to be racial motivated, not the North.

Fayetteville huh? Have fun with that!

And it's ok to feel uncomfortable in an area where you are not comfortable for any reason no matter how un-PC it is.

Try Southern Pines, NC/ Pinehurst, NC/Aberdeen, NC. Affectionately called the Sandhills. I moved here about 5 years ago from CT and love it. Extremely friendly to Yankees. Everybody who moves here absolutely LOVES IT.
