Me and my wife got seat belt tickets last night in Franklin,NC by a state trooper with an attitude from the get go. Was curious WHY do we have to pay 135$ in court costs if we don't intend going to court for it? I have no problem paying 25$ to be able to use my own discretion when and where I wear my seat belt but they are ripping people off with this court fee garbage.
So do you have to pay the entire thing even if you don't go to court? We were seriously looking at moving to NC but after this run in with the nazi stormtrooper I am having 2nd thoughts....This is outrageous I know in SC and Ga you pay the 25$ ticket and that's it unless you want to contest it. This is robbery and needs to be changed.
It's only robbery to those who choose to violate the law. For those of us who wear our seat belts, court costs are not a problem at all--they keep our taxes lower.

Government has no right telling me I have to wear a seat belt plain and simple. Court costs are illegal robbery when I had no plans on going to court but now I will be hiring a lawyer to deal with this gestapo tactics of NC.
Those outrageous Nazi court costs are part of what help keep NC from being SC or GA.
I prefer the Ga and SC compared to the nazi cops yall got there in NC. Believe me NC is nothing to be proud of. I loved living in SC...Ga not so much but for different reasons. NC is to damn expensive.

Common sense says you wear a seat belt while driving. I guess NC is trying to beat a little common sense into your head.
If people of-age don't want to wear seat belts or helmets, more power to them. We always need more organ donors.
