My husband is self employed (freelance advertising) and we're relocating from NY, which is not known to be a very business-friendly state. Are there certain benefits to calling NC home for its self-employed residents? We've researched private health insurance premiums. The drastic difference in those rates alone make NC a good choice for us. Are there any other aspects that make NC a business-friendly state? Tax structure, etc?
