Hi. I am moving down to North Carolina in the beginning of July. My husband and I are taking an apartment in same complex as daughter, son in law and family. We are moving outside Fayetteville and she has some social outlets already lined up, but I was wondering the best way to meet some people and make friends with other older adults. I am early 60's and hubby early 70's and we are grandparents. Any suggestions for the best way to go about places and ways to meet people in our age group? Thanks.
Well, not necessarily seniors, but my wife has started a weekly lunch group that meets every WED at different restaurants in the area. The purpose is to meet new people and try different restaurants. They had 15 people today for the first meeting and tried Korean food.
We also have a monthly International Supper Club my wife organized. Everybody brings their favorite dish and shares recipes. One person usually teaches everyone else how to make a special dish. We have folks from many countries and cultures. All are welcome.
If you would like more info, I'll put in touch with my wife.
