Isn't that being consistent though? It's not targeting homosexuals, but predominantly heterosexuals. I know too many people in their 30s and 40s who are disappointed about not being married, most especially the ones living with a "partner" of the opposite sex. To hear how one of them talks about his girlfriend makes me naseous, because it shows an utter lack of respect for her as a human being. Marriage forces you to try harder. I've lived with a girlfriend before without commitment, and marriage definitely changes the whole perspective on things.
That probably because they were raised in a "good christian home" where the parents were married, but the fundy religion also taught that the woman was subservient and inferior to the male.

You are more than welcome. Glad we got it done. I am beginning to think being called a bigot is a compliment. My son says people start calling others names when they have no valid argument to offer.
You've cost us all millions in legal fees, court costs, printing costs, etc., to interpret this ridiculous, redundant amendment. Not to mention the children who will lose benefits because of this.
All because you don't like the idea of two people of the same sex loving each other.
Imagine if your relationship was put to a vote. How would you feel then?

There have been plenty of valid arguments offered on these boards - pages and pages of them.
I may be visiting N.C. next week - I'm looking for public transportation from RDU to a town northwest of Chapel Hill - but I will ask that question in the Raleigh/Durham forum. The Greensboro/Winston-Salem forum might even be appropriate.
Also, I know someone who went to UNC-Chapel Hill(part of the reason for my possible visit). Go Tar Heels!

Your actions are bigoted for the simple reason they represent nothing but irrational hatred, which makes you a bigot.
