Here is the situation: I want to relocate to North Carolina. I want a teaching position. I presently live in VA. I have no teacher's license but have passed both praxis exams and the VCLA in VA. What do I need to do to get a teaching position in NC? Also, I am one class away from my Master's degree. Can and how do I obtain a provisional license to teach in NC? Help me please!

Probably need teaching credentials via college teacher program. Lateral entry is all but gone in most major counties.
In the county where I teach, there are two staff that are close to completing their teacher program and MIGHT have a position when they finish in December.
Are you completing a teacher program soon? Are you looking at any specific area to teach in? Endorsements in what content?

Stay in Va. finish your course and get your Va. license and then transfer down. If you have a license from another state a better chance getting in and then transferring your license versus trying to get it once in state. lat. entry is pretty much gone these days.

Currently there are over 1200 teaching jobs posted on state website. Also, it is fairly simple to transfer teaching license...for an $85 fee and a 60 buisness day wait time.

I would be willing to bet that many of the positions listed are as a formality. I found it interesting that there are no positions available in Wake or Johnston Counties and that a middle school in Durham was looking for several coaching positions to be filled. When did middle schools get athletic teams?

Here is Johnston County's employment page. Typically if Johnston County is hiring, there is a better chance others will be also.
