LOOKING for single family home, which area is better for family???
On factor is whether you plan to use the public schools, or whether you home-school or use private schools.
The elementary schools (in Harnett County) around Anderson Creek Club are only rated 3 of 10. The Southern Pines elementary schools are about the same, but there is one 9 of 10 elementary school (Pinehurst).
I have a baby, no schools will be needed. We will only be there a yr 1/2.
Then pick which-ever area you prefer, and is closer to where the job is. Anderson Creek Club is newer, and probably has more young families. H&H Homes built some of the houses, and they are a decent production builder.
I have never seen either, I guess that is the problem. We will have to pick sight unseen. I am looking for decent shopping, restaurants, safety and military famililes. We had to do the same this time around and picked wrong, so I dont want to do it again

OK, that's more specific requirement. Both are safe areas. Southern Pines is an established town with more convenient shopping and restaurants. Anderson Creek Club is out in the country, and has a Food Lion, but not much else. It would be a great place to retire if you like golf.
Regarding, the number of military families, why don't you post that as a specific question in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Sub-forum? That's where most of the question on the Fayetteville area have been.
