Are you looking for an apartment or a house? What is your budget? Are you going to be there long enough that your children will need kindergarten?

Some people on the forum have found a good place in Hope Mills to the south of Ft Bragg. Try searching the forum for "apartments Ft Bragg". I also suggest looking toward Sanford, north of Fayetteville, where there are many houses out in the country, if that's your interest.

If you know you are not going to stay long; then live on post. If you are going to be here a few years you can buy a nice house (even new construction homes)in a good neighborhood for less than $1,000 a month. Rental rates can be high here. We just helped a couple who were looking to rent for $1200 a month and after showing them what rental homes were out there they decided to buy a new construction home that will go for $925 a month including taxes and insurance. It really depends on your situation. There are hundreds of options in the region. Folks at Fort Bragg live in a 5 county area around the post. You can find single family homes to rent or fancy new apartment complexes.
