That map pretty well defines the areas of NC that you do, and don't, want to live.

I have a lot of love for Fullsteam in Durham - they set out to brew a very distinctly southern beer and use local crops. Thanks for posting.

I love Carolina Brewery's Copperline. I had it at King's Barcade in downtown Raleigh and I've bought a few growlers of it. I wish they sold it in bottle like some of their other beers.

the ones i drink with regularity are:
Duck-Rabbit
Mother Earth
Carolina Brewery
Lone Rider
Natty Greene's

someone needs to step up to the plate and make a local cheap beer, a la PBR, Natural Light, Miller High Life, or maybe even something that competes with Yuengling, Bud Light, etc.. The prices of these craft beers are killing me.

Hey, make your own! It's cheap, and you can make whatever kind you like.

I have to add a few of my favorite NC beers to the list:

Red Oak (and Battlefield Bock from the same brewer)
Highland--Porter and Gaelic Ale
Green Man ESB (also have a very good Porter)
Foothills Octoberfest

Ah heck, who am I kidding...I like them all!
