No, competency to drive must be evaluated, but to use the calender to set the standard is a stupid, unfair and ineffective solution.

I'm in my late 30's and feel that it isn't necessarily the age that should restrict a driver, But I do feel that with a set age maybe be tested more often. I live in a community where there are quite a few older drivers and they do 20-25 in a 45 mph zone, or 40 in a 55. My personal pet peeve, if you can't drive the speed limit, you shouldn't drive, you are actually a hazard.
And I also think that as you get older, the possibility of being put on Medications that may effect you, need to be monitored better. If it is a med that causes sleepiness and you shouldn't operate heavy equipment, and it's something your ordered to take daily. You shouldn't have a license. From personal experience with family and friends, DMV will never know until there is an accident.

after rereading, I didnt mean to imply "all older drivers" drive this way, but there are a few.
