We opened another frozen yogurt shop called sweet frog, opened a children's bouncy house play area in the mall, and defeated Sanderson chicken from building a slaughter house here. Maybe they will go to Cary nc, idk :-). The road expansion are progressing and soon we will have larger capacity bridges and highways to handle a growing city. There is talk of a convention center and I think that is a great idea, our hotels are always booked up and a new center would entice even larger groups to visit. We are expanding on the first rate athletic fields and I'm very happy that these fields have brought in business and events from other towns. Wesleyan college is adding a new marketing degree. I have heard positive reviews of the brand new high school too. I am also interested in a new real sports bar downtown called sidetracks. It's good to get a nice sports bar for get together. Sorry for grammar and such, written from smartphone using auto correct.
Just kidding. Glad to hear things are in motion over there. Rocky Mount gets trashed quite a bit on this board, but I know people from there and it's like any other place--there are good spots and bad, and it's pretty easy to avoid the bad if you so choose.

Its well deserved. Rocky Mount is easily the armpit of Eastern NC.

Investors have started a new community bank in Rocky Mount called First Carolina Bank, a venture that was made possible by purchasing this summer most of First Carolina State Bank's assets. The bank was considered "significantly undercapitalized" by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
