We have a home for sale at McGees Crossroads. I have been very surprised at the lack of response that we have had for our home. Are there other people that are having difficulty selling their homes in this area?

Yeah. It's getting pretty slow. I think our home prices in this area have exceeded demand. Expect to slash the price of your home about 10%.

It's not just a problem where you are at, it's a nation wide problem. Credit is harder to get, investors have largely stopped buying and inventory is way up in most places.

Just ask yourself, why are you trying to sell, do you really need to? And if you do, you need to be serious about selling, stage the home and price it to sell and be VERY flexible with terms, pricing, etc. And don't get emotional about it, it's just a house.

Good luck, think about your timeline and pricing stragegy in a soft market.

Tony

Real Estate has always been unstable market. Peaks and valleys are common, especially in 'booming' areas. One thing to remember, homeowners may prefer new construction. This area is overloaded with new homes for sale. From what I understand, sellers in the northeast are really taking it on the chin. You're not alone...
