How long did it take to adjust to new area? I have moved from crazy NJ to a rural, sorta quiet area. How did you adjust? What about differences in spouses. I have seem to adjust faster than my husband. Thanks

In my opinion a lot depends on what you are doing with your life since you moved here. For instance...we moved here 7 months ago but we've been so busy remodeling our home we haven't had time to even think about adjusting. Everyone has been so friendly and the area is so pretty what's to adjust? There is night life if you are willing to take a bit of a drive to the city or even the closer towns. I suppose it depends on what you mean by "adjust". Getting familiar with different things does take time. We moved here from crazy Los Angeles CA. I guess we were soooo ready for this change there wasn't much adjusting to the new life here. Perhaps if you are younger it could take a bit more time. Try getting out and exploring the area...keep busy!!! I hope your hubby will be able to adjust and enjoy his life here soon.

How could anyone not? He comes through here from time to time. He was in the area twice in the last couple of years, once as part of Deep Purple, and once as a Steve Morse Band/Dixie Dregs show. I'm expecting him to be around here again hopefully in '08.

Yes he really adds life to Deep Purple. I love the Steve Morse Band, he is great. I am a huge Zappa fan , Vai fan too!!!!! Also throw in Todd Rundgren and we got some good music. Morse is just so technically beautiful. The music is so melodic and he just is tooooooo goooooood. Thanks Marilyn

It really depends on you and the area IME.

When I moved from CA to metro Atlanta in 1996 - I settled right in. Fit in well (family from the South originally). Loved it.

Moved from Georgia to a very rural area in Northern California in 2003. Tried my best to get involved with different organizations and meet people. Started a business. Served on various boards for various groups. And after 4.5 years - neither my husband or myself have EVER adjusted.

We've sold and are headed back to the Southeast NEXT WEEK! I cannot wait to get back and meet more of the Southern people that I love and appreciate so much! (Not to mention getting to see all of our very good friends that we've missed horribly since leaving.) And I fully intend to have Bruster's Ice Cream the very first day I'm back LOL

I just had to post in a thread started by "stevemorse".

I know who he is too-I have seen him a few dozen times including a couple of late '70s Dregs shows.
