Downtown Raleigh Demographics & Statistics
I can't find any stats on downtown Raleigh, but there ARE NOT 106,000 residents! That would make it larger than most major cities.

There are 4 apartments under construction in uptown and 4 or 5 in Southend so I think that what they are looking at.
Is Southend part of Uptown? I was under the impression that it is a separate area and Uptown is only composed of the 4 wards. But even 4 apartment large apartment buildings won't increase the population by 9,000, so that estimate sounds a bit off.

They are going out about 3 or 4 miles circle around downtown Raleigh. Downtown is only 1.9 square miles, and is no way over 100,000 live in that area.

The bait was set and you walked right into it!

You mean like Charlotte's MSA takes in a wider circle and 7 counties vs Raleigh's smaller circumference MSA and 3 counties?? You can call that an equal comparison though, right?? No I'm sorry, the link clearly says "Downtown Raleigh", doest matter how wide a circle and how far out it goes, downtown Raleigh has many more people than uptown Charlotte! Says it right there! BOOM!

It's probably more like 10,000, if that.

It's doubtful that over 5,000 live in downtown Raleigh...not to dismiss downtown Raleigh because I like it, but it hasn't truly caught on as a place to live for most people. Uptown Charlotte hasn't really either, but even much larger cities often don't have great downtown populations.

Center City is uptown, Southend and Mid-town.

Oh okay...that's a pretty large area. I was just talking about Uptown, like downtown in other cities - not including some of the surrounding areas.
