There are quite a few venues for events but Romare Park Has an Ampitheater stage with Romare park having good capacity, NC Music factory has a proper Ampitheater so you're right, probably no more uptown. I actually would be upset if an Ampitheater like the one in Raleigh were built here. It looks like it has zero regard for street presence

In the Romare Bearden about how many can it seat? I'm sad to say I have yet made to the park. I forgot about the Amphitheatre in NC Music factory. It looks like I'll have to rescind my comment concerning that.

Skyhouse II should be starting construction very soon.

I've been excluding Skyhouse II because I wasn't sure how close foreskins it was but here's the scorecard so far for 15+ floor projects uptown under construction or about to be U/C:

SkyHouse II (24 floors)
AC Hotels (25 floors)
300 South Tryon (~25 floors)
300 South Tryon Hotel (~15 floors)
Tryon Place Office (~27 Floors)
Tryon Place Hotels (~20 floors)
Ascent (~33 floors)
Museum Tower (43 Floors)
Springhill (~17 floors)
615 College Office (~21 floors)
Crescent Stonewall (~20 floors)
Crescent Stonewall Hotels (~15 floors)

1 Brevard (28 floors) and Hilton Canopy by Levine could start and Marriott has plans for a JW I believe but I didn't list those because I only listed 100% shoe in's to start by summer

Other notable developments:

- 10 mile lynx blue line extension to UNCC/NoDa
- 2 Mile starter phase of Gold line Finishing up
- 2.5 mile Gold Line extension
- Whole Foods uptown
- Publix Uptown
- BoA Plaza Retail Conversion
- Independence Center Retail Conversion
- North Tryon Civic Corridor (lots of land led by Bank of America & the city. Could be huge. BoA makes things happen)
- Carolina Theatre

Another huge CLT development. Charlotte airport will start construction on 25 more gates in 2016

Charlotte is already the 8th largest airport in the nation by passenger numbers. (Raleigh is 39th). This will really boost CLT.
And American @ CLT is the 3rd largest airline hub in he nation and probably close to that number for the world also. American has over 90% of Traffic at CLT

Charlotte from the North

There are around 240,000 living within 5 Miles of uptown.
Are all these projects Uptown?

I think Raleigh Downtown Alliance is working hard to make a good change in Raleigh's downtown.

We have Charlotte Center City Partners who promotes uptown.

Those are all uptown with the exception of the parts of the gold/blue line that extend outside of 277.

I thought the springhill suites was in midtown? Maybe I'm mistaken?

Midtown isn't Uptown? adjacent to Uptown right?

Springhill Suites is a couple blocks from the arena, a hotel/apartment combo is planned for midtown but haven't heard much about it lately

I think you might be referring to the Metropolitan site, owned by the Levine Family. I'm not holding my breath but I do hope that it happens.
