Give up?

Spoiler
Rex

Ever heard of it? What makes this place so special? I am sure it is some anomaly, but I haven't found what skews the numbers.

I peeked, and am also stumped as to why. It might be a large subsidy to one or two farmers, divided by a small population of 55. Otherwise, I would have guessed Chapel Hill.

I know where Rex is, and although I haven't been through there in many years, it was nothing but a small crossroads in the middle of farm country. Maybe some very rich people have retired to that area, but I have no idea what drew them there.

The maximum farm subsidy was $64K, so not enough to raise the average that much. Maybe a lottery winner giving a one-year boost.

Rex is literally a spot next to the railroad in Robeson County. They have a post office and that's it. It's off of Hwy. 20 between Lumber Bridge & St. Pauls. It's completely surrounded by farmland. Where did you get the information that it has the highest income? I really find that hard to believe??!

I saw this on a yahoo article a couple of years back when it was listing the highest income areas in each state. I've never been there but I'm guessing the population of only 55 makes it so high. Maybe the families who live there have other sources of income besides just the farms.

Guess?

I'd say Jim Goodnight's house.

Looking a the some of the other top places, like Seven Springs, this most definitely must be skewed by bigfish/small pond.
