This should be illegal consider how the federal government does student loan info for a dependent filing. If you are under 24, not married or orphaned or something weird you CAN NOT claim you are independent. No matter how little your parents are paying for your college education. So NC can sure collect extra taxes by filing a student as independent but the government won't consider them one to give them more financial aid. SO STUPID.

Georgia and New Hampshire have voter ID laws and don't seem to have any problems. I mean, Obama still won the election didn't he?

republicans certainly are hypocrites. they preach small government, yet GWB expanded the federal government astronomically. however, democrats are hypocrites as well. don't play make believe.
