Hello,

I am a single mother looking for a change. I am a Massage Therapist, currently living in Baltimore and looking to move within the next year. In Baltimore the schools aren't so great, the taxes are high and traffic is bad. Rent is also high as well. I had been looking into the Raleigh and Charlotte areas. I am looking for place that has nice schools, friendly people and a little bit of culture. As for Raleigh or Charlotte, I'm not sure which area would be best for me & my family.

Raleigh is a GREAT place for single mothers. And it's closer to Baltimore.

Either would fit what you describe, but none of us can say which would be best for YOU--come visit both and see which you prefer.

Wherever you locate a job, you will be able to live in an area with good schools. Charlotte has a slightly lower cost of living, but the Raleigh area has a slightly better employment picture. You might check whether either location seems to be saturated with massage therapists.
