Hi, my husband and I are relocating from ny to lake royale, nc over the next few months, can't wait! We are unsure of the surrounding areas in terms of good shopping and restaurants (not fast food). Where are the good shopping centers and restaurants??? Being from ny, we are spoiled with so much around. Thanks for your feedback!
I am surprised you had not checked this out before. There's a Belk (department store) in Zebulon at 12 miles, and a Walmart in Louisburg at 10 miles, also a couple of dollar stores closer. The Belk is part of the Triangle East Shopping Center, and the center is quite small with a Rose's and a Food Lion as the other major tenants. You also have a closer Food Lion in Bunn for everyday groceries.
The Sisters Cafe in Bunn gets a good review. (Were they written up in Our State recently?) The sisters have a Facebook page, and their menus are posted. It looks like "real country cooking" with local vegetables. The Showside Grill in Spring Hope looks interesting also. Also the Country Inn in Spring Hope. Bunn is about 3-5 miles away and Spring Hope is 5-6 miles. Otherwise, it's barbecue, Chinese and pizza places.
