I have a doghouse that I need to bring back from Boone to Raleigh.
A friend loaned me a 5x10 utility trailer and I have light hookups but no tags.
I will be going anyway tomorrow for other reasons and getting this doghouse back would be
helpful . The only other option is to rent a UHaul trailer in Boone.
If I get stopped does anyone know how much the ticket will cost.

Why didnt he loan you the tags or how did it get to your place without tags?
I had this one idea you could wing it by putting your car tag on the trailer but that will be ovious when you dont have the dog house

Guess would be he didn't have tags. Might be a way to throw off the tax collector. But switching the tags is a bad idea. The trailer tags are distinct. If you put First in Flight tags on them you'll really raise suspicion.

Your right it been awhile since I have paid attention to trailer tags.
OP OP cancel what I stated and go with your original plan.!!!
I just check UHaul site and you can rent a 4x7 trailer for 14.95 that no biggy.
I saw Raleigh had 4 locations.

If the trailer doesn't have tags that means it's probably not registered and could be grounds for the cop to not let you back on the road with it.
