Do you honestly believe students are going out of their way to vote more than ONCE? Obviously the America you live in is much different than real America. Not any I knew then or know now...deal with the reality of the shifting demographic landscape instead of hiding behind useless mandates and laws that'll probably never see the light of day....waste of gubment money and time.

1. Identification is free.

2. Election Day is the only day you are truly guaranteed to vote, and you still have 10 days to early vote.

In no way is anyone's right to vote being infringed upon.

Identification is not free. ID cards from the DMV cost $10.

If they want their candidate to win, yes. Remember the statistically impossible 99% vote for Obama in a Philadelphia precinct? What prevents that from happening here in NC? Any system that can be abused will be abused.

It seems like some people in Raleigh are finally getting it - Way to Go! It's is long overdue.

For those opposed to it...too bad, shut up and go get a photo ID!

Besides you can't go to any DNC Convention, open a bank account, etc. etc. etc without one.
Soon you will be able to do all these things that you have been missing out on. Unless there is another
reason you do not want one?

NC lawmakers approve sweeping changes to voting rules | Fox News
Voter fraud in national elections is almost non-existent. Voter suppression, however, is rampant, and this law is an example of it.

This new rule isn't designed to stop voter fraud. It is designed to suppress the votes of blacks, Latinos and poor people--i.e. people likely to vote for Democrats. People at the lower end of the economic spectrum are less likely to have IDs for a number of reasons. The most important reason is they have a hard maintaining housing. Poorer people move a lot, and often have to live with friends and relatives. That means they have difficulty proving their addresses and thus often cannot get ID.

WRAL posted all the changes that are coming with minor changes occuring this year election.
Odd years are typically in odd years. Typically this is when local elections occur. IMO odd years when all local (county, city) including referendums, bonds should occur, especially since the state converting to fill in the dot system.

Election changes coming in 2014, 2016 :: WRAL.com
If anyone has or comes across a condese version of all the new law , i appreciate it could be posted so hopefully I or someone on this forum needs it, can find it before election period.
Thanks
